It was an unforgettable weekend for the athletes of Bishop Kearney High School as teams delivered a remarkable run of championship performances across multiple sports. In a span of just a few days, BK celebrated three state hockey championships while the Boys Varsity Basketball team captured a sectional title. 

On the ice, Bishop Kearney Selects saw continued success and once again proved why it is among the nation’s elite programs. Three teams skated their way to state titles, 14U BK Selects boys, U16 BK Selects girls, and U19 BK Selects girls showcasing the depth and strength of the program’s elite hockey development model. Now the BK Selects program is focused on the National Championship tournament, which is just a few weeks away.

Meanwhile, on the hardwood, the Boys Varsity Basketball team made history of its own. With a thrilling victory in the sectional final on Friday March 6th at the Blue Cross Arena, the Kings secured their first sectional championship in 13 years, out-scoring Canisteo-Greenwood 82-58. This win ignited excitement across the BK community and highlighted the team’s journey to the title that was defined by grit, resilience, and a relentless commitment to one another. 

From the rink to the court, the weekend was a powerful reminder of the dedication, preparation, and competitive spirit that drives BK athletics. With banners raised and history made, we look ahead proud of what has been accomplished and eager for what could be achieved next season.
