ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Less than a month after successfully navigating its historic first season of play, the Professional Women's Hockey League is already preparing for Year 2.

Two former BK Selects defenders will be part of that future, as Sydney Bard (at BK in 2016-17) at Lauren Bernard (2018-19) were both selected by PWHL teams in Round 4 of the league's second-ever draft on June 10.

Defenseman Ty Henry (at BK from 2020-21) and Christian Humphreys (2020-22) both heard their names called in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon, with Henry going to the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round and Humphreys to the Colorado Avalanche in the seventh.
  • How BK Built One of U.S.’s Top Programs

How has Bishop Kearney High School created a co-ed elite hockey program essentially from scratch in less than eight years?

Much of the backstory is told here, but as the accolades continue to pile up, the story should certainly be updated regularly. After another strong spring, BK Selects teams have won 20 New York state championships, earned seven USA Hockey runner-up finishes and claimed two USA Hockey national championships, won by the 16U boys in 2022 and the 14U boys in 2023.
