Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial aid, academic awards and scholarships may be available to qualifying students.

FINANCIAL AID PROCESS:

The deadline for financial aid applications is April 15, 2013.

You are required to apply every year for financial aid, therefore, even if you have previously received financial aid, you must complete another application for the 2013-2014 school year using our school ID #104877.

If you have not previously received financial aid, but feel that circumstances have changed and you need some assistance, you must complete an application as well.

Anyone filing late will be considered, but there is no guarantee that funds will be available.

The financial aid process is simple and is now available online:

  1. The deadline to submit financial aid applications is April 15, 2013.
  2. Fill out the on-line application using information from your 2012 tax return.
  3. Include any other additional information that you feel would be beneficial in assessing your family's financial situation.
  4. FACTS will process the information and send the results to Bishop Kearney.
  5. Bishop Kearney will review the results and notify each family of the financial aid award.
  6. Mail copies of your tax return and supporting documents directly to:

Please allow 3 to 4 weeks from the time FACTS receives your completed application and supporting documents to the day Bishop Kearney receives your family's results.

In addition to financial aid grants, Bishop Kearney also awards merit-based and Alumni scholarships.  Please see below for details on a few of the scholarship available:

Presidential Scholarship Full:
Bishop Kearney awards one full Presidential Scholarship each year. This scholarship is awarded to the incoming 9th grade student who attains the highest score on the November or December entrance exam. The student who receives this scholarship will be awarded their freshman year tuition free with a $1000 award each year for his/her remaining three years.

Presidential Scholarship Half:
Bishop Kearney awards one half Presidential Scholarship each year. This scholarship is awarded to the incoming 9th grade student who attains the second highest score on the November or December entrance exam. The student who receives this scholarship will be awarded their freshman year at half tuition with a $1000 award each year for his/her remaining three years.

Brother Edmund Rice Scholarship:
The Br. Edmund Rice Scholarship is awarded to incoming 9th grade students who score in the 90th percentile and above on the November and December entrance exams. These students will receive an award of $1000 a year for each year they attend Bishop Kearney .

Bishop Kearney Academic Scholarship:
The Bishop Kearney Academic Scholarship is awarded to incoming 9th grade students who score between the 85th and 89th percentiles on the November or December entrance exam. These students will receive an award of $500 a year for each year they attend Bishop Kearney.

Brother Mark Clark Alumni Scholarship:
The Brother Mark Clark Scholarship is awarded to the children of Bishop Kearney High School and Cardinal Mooney High School alumni. Only students in grades 9 – 12 are eligible. These students will receive an award of $250 a year for each year they attend Bishop Kearney.
