Our BK Guidance department receives many different types of scholarships that we can offer to our students. Applications for all scholarships listed in student monthly mailings are available in the guidance office. Please see Mrs. May for help.

Microsoft
The software giant's "Blacks at Microsoft" scholarships are awarded to high school seniors interested in studying engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or business. The $5,000 scholarships are renewable each year.
Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals
OBAP offers a variety of scholarships to black students interested in becoming pilots or entering the aerospace field.
Oracle
Oracle offers $10,000 scholarships to those attending historically black colleges and universities (and a variety of other universities) who are studying computer science, engineering, software development, or business. Winners will also participate in an eight-week paid internship at Oracle.
Gateway to Leadership Program
For students at HBCUs who are interested in finance, business, or economics, the Gateway to Leadership Program will earn paid internships at a variety of banking firms such as Legg Mason, Prudential Investments, and ING Investments.
Gates Millennium Scholars Program
Each year, 1,000 minority students interested in studying computer science, engineering, mathematics, science, and several other non-STEM majors earn good-through-graduation full-ride scholarships.
National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering
Each year, NACME awards $4 million to minority students who are studying engineering. More information about application requirements and deadlines will be available in the spring.
National Association of Multicultural Engineering Program Advocates
NAMEPA awards scholarships to students studying engineering who are transferring from community colleges to four-year institutions.
National Association of Black Geologists and Geophysicists
NABGG awards scholarships to four full-time undergraduate students studying geoscience. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and applications are due April 30.
National Society of Black Physicists
NSBP awards three scholarships to sophomore and juniors studying physics. Act quickly: Scholarship applications are due by January 13.
National Society of Black Engineers
NSBE, in partnership with companies such as Caterpillar, BP, ExxonMobil, and General Mills, offers dozens of scholarships worth a total of several million dollars annually to students studying engineering. Check out its scholarship vault for deadlines, awards, and eligibility guidelines.
